Licensing terms
Borne offers two categories of imagery, licensed directly with no third-party agency in between: original photography produced by Borne, and public-domain works whose copyright has expired. Provenance for each asset is recorded and available on request. Two licences are available.
Public-domain note. For faithful reproductions of two-dimensional public-domain artworks, no new copyright arises under US law (Bridgeman Art Library v. Corel, 1999); these are supplied on that basis. Where an asset depicts trademarks, identifiable people or private property, it is marked editorial use only and is not cleared for commercial use without the appropriate releases.
